About our client
As an industry leader, our client is an established and highly regarded property advisory firm that specialise in early phase advisory, quantity surveying and end to end cost management. With over 100 quantity surveyors nationally, they work on a diverse range of projects across a broad range of industry sectors including Commercial, Workplace, Education, Health and Aged Care. Due to extensive growth across the business, they are now looking to hire multiple roles across Australia – with a strong focus on hiring experienced and highly motivated Senior Quantity Surveyors to join their Melbourne team.
About the role
Working closely with Directors and other senior staff, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for: ensuring technical and service delivery excellence of all work; effective project management; developing business and client relationships; participating in professional development and industry groups/forums; understanding and delivering on the organisations strategy; and mentoring and developing junior staff to meet technical standards.
As a thought leader in the industry, you will possess excellent technical skills in addition to strong commercial acumen, business development and client relationship skills. With effective interpersonal and leadership skills, you will successfully manage effective teams in addition to building strong relationships with staff, colleagues and clients.
The successful candidate will be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying (or relevant degree) with a minimum of 5-7 years Quantity Surveying experience (and candidates with experience in education or health will be highly regarded). Experience working in a consultancy will be highly desirable as well as RICS/IQS accreditation (but not essential). You will have advanced Microsoft Office skills and previous experience using CostX will be advantageous.
