Family Friendly Workplaces

Working Parents Connect are proud to partner with Family Friendly Workplaces to promote available roles with supportive and inclusive employers, and encourage more organisations to be proactive in caring for the wellbeing of their employees.

Family Friendly Workplaces provide employers with a National Work + Family Standards benchmark of best practice guidelines that support employees meet their work, family and wellbeing needs. The Family Friendly Workplaces recognition framework certifies employers as a Family Inclusive Workplace™. UNICEF Australia and Parents At Work, alongside 23 founding and supporting partner organisations, have come together to develop a set of National Work + Family Standards, and create the Family Friendly Workplaces certification.

Family Friendly Workplaces strive to reduce the tension that exists between work and family by embedding and promoting policies and practices that genuinely support employees to thrive at work and at home. Several of Australia’s biggest employers (including our Featured Employers Medibank and Leidos as well as Commonwealth Bank, Deloitte, Karitane, Novartis, QBE Insurance Australia and RiseSmart – Australia & New Zealand) are early adopters of the program and among the first in the country to be certified as Family Friendly Workplaces.

We are privileged to partner with family friendly employers every single day (through recruitment, job advertising and Featured Employers services) and this initiative for Australian employers to be certified as Family Friendly Workplaces will not only encourage more employers to create supportive and inclusive working environments for parents, but will also enable family friendly employers to both attract and retain top talent.

Benefits of becoming a certified FFW include:

Be recognised. Certified employers receive a recognition badge identifying their  organisation as a ‘Family Inclusive Workplace’

Be inclusive. Create a workplace culture that enables all employees to combine work and family responsibilities.

Be benchmarked. Compare your policies and practices against endorsed national standards and other employers.

Be an employer of choice. Enhance your employee value proposition, attract and retain talent and improve gender equality.

Be a thriving workplace. Enhance employee wellbeing, productivity and engagement by reducing work life tension.

A family friendly workplace positively impacts the quality of work-life for every individual and contributes to the wider health and wellbeing of our society and economy. Working Parents Connect are privileged to partner with family friendly employers every single day (through recruitment, job advertising and Featured Employers services) and this initiative for Australian employers to be certified as Family Friendly Workplaces will not only encourage more employers to create supportive and inclusive working environments for parents, but will also enable family friendly employers to both attract and retain top talent.
