Facilities Manager – Village Site – FIFO

This is a FIFO role on an 8/6 roster in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Point of Hire is Perth.

The Role 

Ventia has been engaged to provide hard and soft facilities management services including village catering services, facilities management, accommodation and aerodrome facility at the village mine site located in the Pilbara region.

Reporting into the Village Manager, you will play a key role in the management and delivery of property management services across the village within the contract scope. This will include managing client relationships, driving team performance and ensuring that our service delivery in line with relevant compliance standards.

Key responsibilities will include:   

• Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs for all facilities within the mine site village, including accommodation units, dining areas, recreational facilities, and administrative buildings
• Manage a team of maintenance staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards
• Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs, prioritize repairs, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers for specialized maintenance and repair services
• Monitor and manage the budget for facility maintenance, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or safety
• Develop and apply schedules and maintain effective systems for tracking maintenance requests, work orders, and inventory management
• Planning and coordinating all installations relating to building structures to determine the need for repairs / renovations
• Managing the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet the health and safety standards
• Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements in facility management and maintenance
• Work across the villages and mining schedules to ensure overflow accommodation is identified, rates negotiated, maintained and utilised as needed with limited disruption to services
• Facilitate the development and application of Village Guidelines including the development of reporting and escalation processes
• Encourage and empower all team members to identify hazards and report incidents, as well as communicate opportunities for improvement
• Prepare and deliver reports and statistics as required under the Contract and Ventia requirements

About you

The successful candidate will have excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels.

• Proven experience as a Facilities and Maintenance Manager, preferably in a mine site or remote village setting
• Trade qualification in Certificate III Electrotechnology is essential
• Experience with carpentry works is highly desirable
• Experience with Strong knowledge of building systems, equipment, and maintenance practices
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Minimum 5 Years experience working in a similar field
• High level of computer literacy and reporting
