Our client is an Australian-owned, multi-disciplinary consultancy specialising in Hydraulic, Fire, Water and Sewer design, and an accredited Water Service Coordinator (WSC) for Sydney Water. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Water Designer to join their Sydney team.
About the Role
You will design, coordinate and deliver water infrastructure projects in line with Sydney Water requirements and Australian Standards, working closely with clients, authorities, contractors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design solutions for Sydney Water Projects
- Manage projects to agreed scope, budget, and programme
- Liaise daily with clients and Sydney Water
- Coordinate consultants, contractors, and authorities
- Conduct and coordinate site inspections
- Ensure compliance with Sydney Water and Australian Standards
- Prepare and manage technical documentation, WAE, procurement, and flow management documentation
- Monitor risks, performance, and project invoicing
About You
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Design C1 – C3 water projects or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role in Australia
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams
- Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and project management tools
- Current Australian work rights
Desirable
- Experience with councils, utilities, or authorities
- Knowledge of WHS legislation
- Professional membership (e.g. Engineers Australia)
