Ventia has an exciting opportunity for a trade-qualified Technical Supervisor to oversee critical Defence maintenance activities in Lavarack Barracks in Townsville, QLD.
Reporting to the Site Manager, you’ll lead day-to-day service delivery, ensuring safety, compliance, and quality across trade and admin teams. You’ll support Defence maintenance operations while fostering a high-performing, positive team culture.

Responsibilities:
- Supervise the trades workforce, ensuring all work meets safety, quality, and compliance standards.
- Coordinate with schedulers, maintenance planners, and relevant stakeholders to allocate resources effectively.
- Conduct incident investigations and reporting, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
- Maintain effective communication with management while ensuring administrative tasks and processes are completed accurately and on time.
- Lead, mentor, and develop staff, including training, inductions, and fostering a positive team culture.
About you:
- Proven experience leading maintenance teams and managing technical activities in a defence environment.
- Demonstrated experience with heavy and armoured vehicles
- Relevant trade qualification is required – Cert III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent
- Strong communication, customer service, and leadership skills
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to efficiently manage competing priorities and stakeholders at various levels of seniority (including military personnel).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and SAP system (preferred)
- Current Australian driver’s licence (HR/HC desirable)
- Must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain a Defence NV1 Security Clearance.
