The Opportunity
Ventia has an opportunity for a Telecommunication Rigger to join our Wireless Network team in Regency Park, Adelaide, on a fixed-term contract until April 2027.
Reporting to the Field Manager, you’ll work alongside our experienced crew on major installations and modifications of existing Co-Lo and Greenfield telecommunications sites. You’ll contribute to various mobile, fixed wireless, and broadcast projects for leading carriers across South Australia.
This hands-on role requires regular travel, overtime, and periods away from home, supporting vital infrastructure projects across the region.

Key responsibilities (include but are not limited to)
- Upgrading and modifying existing wireless telecommunications sites, including mobile, fixed wireless, and broadcast infrastructure.
- Installing and erecting steelwork, monopoles, towers, and other structures on both Greenfield and Co-Lo sites.
- Installing, terminating, and testing hybrid cables, feeders, mobile/broadcast antenna systems, RRUs, and Microwave Links.
- Conducting PIM testing, sweep testing, distance-to-fault analysis, fibre testing, bird-proofing and waterproofing of connectors.
- Installing and maintaining antenna and feeder cables on monopoles and towers.
- Reading and interpreting construction and as-built drawings to complete works in accordance with specification and standards.
- Performing rigging and general site work, including constructability inspections and scope assessments.
- Operating and maintaining tools and equipment in line with safety, efficiency, and calibration procedures.
About You
- Telecommunications Rigger with strong knowledge of industry practices and safety standards. (Experience with NBN Wireless, Optus, and TPG desirable)
- Hold a current Rigging certificate. (A basic rigging ticket is essential, with intermediate or advanced qualifications highly regarded)
- Valid Australian driver’s licence. (MR or HR desirable)
- Certified in Working at Heights and Tower Rescue, capable of working up to 80m.
- Skilled in EWP use and antenna/feeder installations, including hybrid cables and steel structures.
- Strong understanding of earthing requirements, RadHaz/EME awareness, and interpreting technical drawings.
- Flexible with travel and overtime; willing to work away from home on a regular/ongoing basis.
- Ability to successfully complete pre-employment checks, including but not limited to a National Police Check and in-clinic medical (including drug and alcohol testing).
