Ventia has over 35 years’ experience working with Defence and has been delivering Firefighting Services for more than 26 years. With a new contract awarded in 2024 for six years, with up to two additional two-year extensions, now is the time to join Ventia’s dedicated Fire Services Team.
We are pleased to invite Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the role of Firefighter at Kokoda Barracks Fire Station, Canungra, Queensland.
About the Role
- This role will see you working as part of a professional team of Firefighters responsible for emergency response and fire protection services at Kokoda Barracks.
- You will perform duties as directed by the Station and Sub Station Officers, including but not limited to:
- Maintaining operational readiness in accordance with relevant procedures
- Responding to incidents as required
- Ensuring all operational and administrative duties are completed accurately
- Complying with operational health, safety and environmental requirements
- Participating in training, drills and exercises to maintain operational capability
- Demonstrating strong teamwork and self-motivation in a dynamic operational environment
Special Conditions
To be eligible for this role, you must be able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
As a result, applicants must:
- Be an Australian Citizen
- Successfully pass an Australian Federal Police check

About You

Essential Qualifications:
- PUA20622 Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations)
- PUA30619 Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations)
- Current HR Driver’s Licence
