In partnership with the Australian Defence Force, Ventia is seeking a full-time Cleaner to join our team at Victoria Barracks, Melbourne.
Reporting to the Domestic Services Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness across office buildings and amenities within the Defence precinct. This is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday, with flexible start times of 6:00am, 6:30am or 7:00am, working 7.6 hours per day.
About the Role
Your duties will include:
- Emptying waste and recycling bins and replacing liners
- Vacuuming carpets and hard floor surfaces
- Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and polishing floors
- Dusting surfaces and removing cobwebs
- Damp wiping desks, tables, benchtops, handrails and other touchpoints
- Spot cleaning windows, walls and doors
- Cleaning and sanitising toilets, urinals, basins and amenities
- Refilling consumables including toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap and deodorisers
- Cleaning mirrors, taps, hand dryers and other fixtures
- Cleaning exhaust fan filters
- Maintaining a clean, safe and professional environment for Defence personnel and visitors
- Reporting maintenance issues and safety hazards as required
You will be allocated your own building and area of responsibility and will receive training and support before working independently.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Previous cleaning experience in commercial, domestic, housekeeping or similar environments
- A strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleaning standards
- The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- A focus on safety and customer service
- Flexibility to assist across different areas when required
Experience cleaning offices, amenities and shared facilities will be highly regarded.
