Ventia’s Western Power contract is growing, and we’re looking for experienced Lead Cable Jointers to join our team delivering critical network projects across Western Australia.
$66.80 – $73.54 per hour + $4.00 per hour regional site allowance + LAFHA of up to $355 per day when working away.

As a Cable Jointer, you will play a key role in delivering safe and efficient upgrades to Western Australia’s electrical distribution network. Working across both metropolitan and regional projects, you’ll contribute to the reliability and resilience of critical infrastructure while being part of a team focused on safety, quality and delivering great outcomes for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute customer and network projects including LV cable and pillar terminations, HV switchgear connections, pad-mounted transformer installations, and streetlight and pit terminations.
- Deliver network enhancement, resilience, and infrastructure upgrade projects across Metro and Regional WA.
- Work collaboratively with crews and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Ensure all field activities are conducted in accordance with safety, quality and compliance requirements.

What we’re looking for
We’re seeking skilled and safety-focused Cable Jointers who bring experience, qualifications and a great attitude to the team, including:
- Certificate III in ESI – Power Systems – Distribution Cable Jointing (UET30819 or equivalent)
- Current Driver’s Licence – C Class
- Proven experience carrying out Distribution Jointing
Highly regarded
- Issuing Officer, Recipient in Charge and eNAR writing
- Paper Lead and LIVE LV qualifications
- Paper Lead HV / XLPE qualifications
- HV and LV Switching authorised on Western Power’s Network
- SACs accreditation
- EWP, HRWL – DG, LF, CV or higher
We’re open to covering relocation costs for the right candidate and encourage qualified Cable Jointers from interstate and New Zealand to apply.
