Summary of Job’s Purpose:

Working closely with the US marketing team, the APAC PR & Marketing Executive will be responsible for all aspects of marketing in order to maintain and heighten the Kargo APAC profile in the region and also to keep us positioned as thought leaders in the field.

You will work with both internal teams and external parties to ensure we deliver the marketing plan and objectives. You will have expert knowledge of all the marketing functions and a passion for new and emerging digital advertising technologies.

The Position:

Operating within the prescribed budget, the marketing executive will aim to maximise the earned vs paid media opportunities and build on what we started in 2021, specifically:

• Be proactive with ideas to suggestions to keep Kargo at the forefront of client and agency minds when considering mobile first advertising opportunities.
• Maintain and grow a strong profile in the trade press through regular planned press releases and contributions, particularly with B&T, Mumbrella, Stop Press, M&AD and The Drum
• Assist the US marketing team with suggestions as to where we invest on trade sponsorships/events with the APAC marketing trade press
• Assist the US regular, planned EDMs, but also create and deliver local EDMs.
• Work with the US to maintain and expand the APAC client, agency and publisher database.
• Dramatically increase the Kargo APAC social media presence and localise
• Work with the events team in the US to relaunch Kargo’s renowned Insights and Bites, which have not been able to happen during COVID.
• Create and deliver new Kargo owned and operated events across the region.
• Investigate local research opportunities for Kargo APAC to implement
• Keep Kargo APC at the forefront of the conference circuit in order to maximise any free speaker opportunities
• Continue to work with the US on our paid for conference sponsorship opportunities
• In 2021 Kargo APAC won the B&T Award for the Best Media Platform. In 2022 our ambition is to enter and win more awards and the marketing exec will be central to that ambition
• Work with IPG India and the Kargo Singapore office in order to increase awareness and presence in SEA and India
• Work with the US and APAC publisher teams to ensure that our publisher alliance achieves regular trade press coverage and that there is awareness of any new publisher additions to the Kargo team and product set.

The Requirements:

• Very likely to be degree educated
• Strong, developed relationships with the APAC trade press.
• At least 3 years relevant experience in the APAC market
• Very strong written and verbal communication skills along with proven questioning and listening skills in formal and informal settings.
• Must be comfortable with complexity, technology and thinking on multiple levels of abstraction.
• Effective time management skills – ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
• Comfort with fast-paced, dynamic working environment with shifting priorities
• A genuine team player who can work flexible hours in order to fit in with a  variety of time zones.

• Responsible for taking a leadership position around all marketing within the APAC team, upholding the Kargo values and improving the overall culture.
• Work with the APAC and US teams to help develop and deliver the ongoing growth strategy for the APAC region.
