We are looking for a junior developer to join our awesome and supportive team in Auckland. This is an amazing growth and development opportunity for a candidate who has a relevant bachelor’s degree and is potentially looking for their next move from an IT based grad or other entry level role into an exciting career in Development.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a mature and high performing agile and DevOps team, working in Microsoft Azure cloud with event driven microservices architecture. The technology stack is serverless/cloud native, using .NET backend and React.JS front end. This is the future of software delivery and this sort of opportunity does not come up often. Key Responsibilities:
• Develop to coding and source code development standards;
Develop code that is clean, understandable, maintainable and SOLID;
• Test and verify application code, functions, modules and programmes using automated test practices that provide a strong foundation for quality;
• Detect and resolve bugs and defects as early as possible in the development lifecycle;
• Develop, build and deploy software components through all environments all the way to production, and support applications in production;
• Pro-actively identify application improvements as part of the development or support activities and work on these with peers within and across teams;
• Deliver using agile, DevOps and continuous integration and delivery principles.
• Develop and maintain detailed and accurate documentation per all IAG standards;
• Attend all team ceremonies including stand ups, retros, planning, prioritisation and refinement sessions
Skills & Experience:
• Bachelors degree in computer science, software engineering or related field
• Basic working knowledge of the application design and development processes, methodologies and their direct implementation to applications projects.
• Basic understanding of structured programming principles (e.g. object-oriented) as applied to software development.
• Capability to create solutions within a team environment
• Good proficiency with verbal, written presentation, facilitation, and communication skills in English
• Results oriented and committed to achieving challenging objectives and delivering excellence
• A desire to continue to grow and improve technical skills, with a commitment to ongoing personal development
• Comfortable working with both business and technical people
• Capable of working as part of a team as well as individually
