Our client are a mid-sized media company specialising in the area of sports and entertainment and they are positioned as a “one stop shop” from creative development through to production, partnering with some of the biggest brands in sports and entertainment.
We have proudly partnered with them to support their recruitment strategy and to recruit into this newly created and ongoing part-time position.
The Finance and Payroll Support Officer will act as a support to the Finance Officer and Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for backup of the payroll function and management of the accounts payable process. Essentially, you will be an extra pair of hands to assist the small finance team with their day to day processing and duties.
Initially the role will act as a backup for payroll processing but will be required to be able to do the following over time and when the tasks are learnt:
To effectively manage the accounts payable function including:
Assist the CFO and other finance staff in processing sales invoices and debtor collections as and when required.
The position is based in Toorak with street parking and public transport nearby. Salary is negotiable but we’re looking at a range between $35 to $50 per hour and this is based on experience and any formal finance qualifications.
Working hours are completely negotiable including start/finish times to accommodate childcare or school drop off/pick up or you can work full days if preferable. We’re looking for someone to start in the role 2 days initially but this is likely to move to 3 days over time. There is likely to be some scope to grow in the role as our client are considering implementing a new finance system and there may be potential to also support some of the IT function too, if of interest.
Our ideal candidate:
You could be a qualified Accountant or Bookkeeper or perhaps you do not have formal qualifications yet have worked in a similar finance and payroll support role for a number of years. An understanding of MYOB Accountright and Ento (timesheet system) would be preferable but not required.
Additionally, it would be great if you had an interest in the sports and entertainment industry.
