About the Role:
Reporting to the GM of Enterprise Architecture, The Data Architect will assist in designing and establishing Ventia’s Data frameworks and strategies.
This role will be based out of our Cremorne Head Office in Melbourne with hybrid WFH arrangements. Applications from other states will also be considered.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop scalable and sustainable data architecture solutions to meet business needs.
- Set data standards, policies, and governance best practices.
- Recommend technologies and tools for data storage, processing, and analytics.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to align data with business goals.
- Implement data security and privacy measures to protect information and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Optimize data pipelines and workflows for performance and scalability.
- Lead data modelling for logical and physical models supporting business processes and analytics.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
Key Experiences & Skill:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a data architect with a successful track record in complex data projects.
- Strong knowledge of data modelling (relational, dimensional, NoSQL) and database design.
- Proficient in SQL, Oracle, MySQL, and SAP.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
- 5 years + as a Data Architect across enterprise architecture
- Understanding of TOGAF
- Experience developing frameworks and implementing frameworks across enterprises
